GFSBeth

Beth McBride aka GFSBeth

I always loved family stories as a child. I really started searching for information in 1963 when I visited Dublin Castle, fully expecting to be handed my genealogy. It was a rude awakening to find out you have to look for records yourself. It was detective work and I was hooked.

I began hosting in July, 2005.

I belong to:

The Chicago Historical Society
The Historical Society of Oak Park River Forest (also volunteer there)
The Irish Genealogy Society International
Godfrey Memorial Library

Areas of research:

Chicago, IL
Michigan
New York
Wisconsin
Ontario, Canada
Newfoundland, Canada
Counties of Wexford, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Meath, Westmeath, Ireland

I have a Macintosh Computer and use Family Tree Maker program

I will do lookups in Chicago, Cook County, and Ireland

Some of the resources I have are:

Szucs' Chicago & Cook County, A Guide to Research
Grenham's Tracing your Irish Ancestors, 2nd ed
Mitchell's A Guide to Irish Parish Registers
Mitchell's A Guide to Irish Churches and Graveyards
Mitchell's A Genealogical Atlas of Ireland
Index to the Townlands and Towns, Parishes and Baronies of Ireland 1851
Ryan's Irish Church Records
